LAHORE, Apr 05 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended her heartfelt greetings to the Christian community on the occasion of Easter, conveying her best wishes and prayers.
In her message, the Chief Minister said the Punjab government stands as an equal partner in the joys of the Christian community and respects their religious celebrations. She described the Christian community in Pakistan as peace-loving and respectable.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized her commitment to spreading the message of love, brotherhood, and unity during Easter, aiming to promote harmony in society.
She further highlighted that the Punjab government has undertaken several initiatives for the welfare of minority communities, including increasing grants and providing development funds. For the first time, a “minority card” has been introduced to benefit minority citizens.
The Chief Minister added that more than one lakh deserving minority families are receiving financial assistance of Rs. 10,500 quarterly to help ease their economic challenges.
