Public Relations Department being modernised across Punjab: Secretary Information

RAWALPINDI, Oct 21 (APP):Secretary for Information and Culture, Punjab, Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani, has said that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the special interest of Minister for Information Azma Bukhari, the Public Relations Department is being modernised on contemporary lines across the province.
He expressed these views during a surprise visit to the Directorate of Public Relations and the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi, here on Tuesday.

Secretary Hamdani inspected the under-construction building of the Directorate of Public Relations, reviewed the pace and quality of work, and directed that the construction be completed within the stipulated time. He said all available resources were being utilised to ensure timely completion of the project and that no negligence or compromise on quality would be tolerated.
He added that the divisional offices of the Public Relations Department were being equipped with modern facilities to enable them to perform their core responsibility of effectively publicising the Punjab Government’s initiatives and development projects.
Later, he visited the Punjab Arts Council in Rawalpindi, where Director Muhammad Shakoor briefed him on the ongoing activities and cultural programmes.
The secretary said Punjab’s culture and civilisation were centuries old and that the Punjab Arts Council was playing a vital role in promoting the province’s rich cultural heritage. He added that the Council served as an ideal platform for showcasing art and creative talent.
