LAHORE, Nov 03 (APP):Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali has increased the research grant for faculty members to promote a culture of research and strengthen linkages between academia, industry, and society for national development.
According to a university spokesperson, faculty members have been invited to submit research proposals for the year 2025–26, and each faculty member will now be eligible for a research grant of Rs. 300,000 upon approval of their proposal. Previously, only professors received Rs. 300,000, associate professors Rs. 250,000, and assistant professors and lecturers Rs. 200,000.
The spokesperson stated that the enhanced grant aims to encourage innovation and practical research contributing to societal and economic progress. Faculty members are required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from their respective Dean or Head of Department prior to submission. The deadline for submission of research proposals is November 18, 2025.
