LAHORE, May 31 (APP):Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) organized a graduate conference titled “Methodological Debates in Qualitative Research” here on Saturday.
On this occasion, ISCS Director Prof Dr Farhan Navid Yousaf, Guest of honors Chairperson Doctoral Programme Coordination Committee Prof Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri and Member Syndicate Prof Dr Muhammad Nasir, conference secretary Prof Dr Ahmed Usman, faculty members, researchers, academicians and a large number of students were present.
In his address, Dr Farhan Navid said that around seven independently organized sessions, each led by recent PhD graduates under the mentorship of senior academics. He said that the conference cultivated a rigorous environment for analytical discourse.
He emphasized the importance of such academic engagements not only in providing graduate students with a platform to present their research, but also in fostering critical dialogue on diverse methodological paradigms. He said that the event served as an intellectually stimulating platform for engaging with both foundational and contemporary scholarship on the methodological complexities and evolving contours of qualitative research in global academia.
Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri and Dr Muhammad Nasir commended the conference as a significant milestone in cultivating a vibrant research culture within Pakistan’s academic institutions.
Dr Ahmed Usman, highlighted the event as the beginning of a broader series of academic initiatives aimed at guiding the social science community toward deeper engagement with emerging debates and shifting landscapes in global research and critical scholarship.
The participants express appreciation for the opportunity to deepen their methodological insights and establish meaningful scholarly collaborations.
