PU, NCCIA hold walk to promote safe cyber spaces

LAHORE, Oct 06 (APP):The Punjab University (PU), in collaboration with the National Cyber Crime Investigation
Agency (NCCIA), organized a walk to raise awareness against cyber harassment, digital blackmail, online fraud, cyber-bullying and misuse of social media.

Affairs Prof Dr. Shahzeb Khan, Additional Director NCCIA Atif Ameer, Deputy Directors Hassan Naqvi and Muhammad Waqas, hostel wardens and superintendents, along with a large number of students, participated in the walk.Female students participated enthusiastically and raised slogans against online harassment and intimidation. They stressed that harassment behind a screen was still harassment and urged victims to report cybercrime instead of silently enduring it.During a meeting, PU and NCCIA officials agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation for promoting safer cyber spaces at the university. It was decided that a student society
dedicated to Safe Cyber Spaces would be established to promote awareness, responsible
digital citizenship and peer outreach.
The two institutions also agreed to organize awareness seminars, interactive sessions and educational activities across the university, reaffirming their commitment to making digital spaces safer and more responsible, particularly for women and young people.
