LAHORE, Feb 11 (APP): Punjab University (PU) has became the first public sector university in the country to introduce QR code-based fee transactions after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JS Bank to digitize university fee challans through Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR system.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, here on Wednesday, where PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali and senior officials of JS Bank formalized the agreement. DG Student Affairs Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq, Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Muhammad Akber Khan, Treasurer Tasneem Kamran, Additional Treasurer Rao Tahir, State Bank representative Bilal and senior officials of JS Bank (Zindigi) were also present.
Under the agreement, PU will implement Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR solution for fee payments, enabling students to pay tuition and other university dues digitally through mobile banking applications. The system will ensure real-time payment processing, reduce manual handling of challans and enhance transparency and efficiency in financial transactions.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said the university was committed to adopting modern technologies to improve administrative efficiency and facilitate students. He said digitizing fee challans through Raast Dynamic QR would make the payment process faster, secure and more convenient for students and parents. The initiative, he added, aligned with PU’s broader vision of promoting a cashless and paperless campus, minimizing queues at banks and streamlining financial operations.
Representatives of JS Bank said that Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR was a secure, State Bank-compliant digital payment solution enabling instant interbank transfers. They expressed confidence that the collaboration would enhance financial inclusion and strengthen digital infrastructure at Punjab University.
