LAHORE, Nov 29 (APP): The annual sports gala organized by the Punjab University Academic Staff Association (ASA) concluded here on Saturday, drawing large participation from faculty members and their families.
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, ASA President Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi, Secretary Dr Muhammad Islam, Chief Organizer Dr Amir Masood Chishti and Director Sports Dr Muhammad Shabbir Sarwar attended the closing ceremony.
Addressing the participants, PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali congratulated the ASA for successfully organizing an excellent recreational event for the faculty. He said such activities should be held regularly and reaffirmed that Punjab University would continue to play its role in promoting sports.
ASA President Dr Amjad Magsi said sports are vital for mental and physical well-being and expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and the organizing committee for their support in making the gala a success.
The two-day event featured competitions in badminton, table tennis, tug-of-war, carrom, chess, ludo, cricket, races and several other games. Free food stalls were also set up for faculty members and their families. Later, certificates of appreciation and shields were distributed among the participants.
