LAHORE, Jan 31 (APP): The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s (PSCA) “Mera Pyara” Reunification Team has achieved another significant success by reuniting Samra, a girl who was found abandoned at Iqbal Park, Lahore, in 2017, with her family.
The girl, who was speech-impaired but able to write her name, had been missing for nine years.
According to a PSCA spokesperson, the team carried out continuous and untiring efforts over the years to trace her family. The process included multiple interviews, use of sign language, and assistance from various available resources.
The girl was taken to several locations, including Iqbal Town Park, Karim Block, and Chowk Yateem Khana, but she was unable to recognize her home or family members.
The breakthrough came after her brother saw a video shared on social media and contacted the “Mera Pyara” team. During verification, it was discovered that the girl’s parents had passed away during her disappearance. Following all legal and biometric verification procedures, the Safe City Reunification Team formally handed over the girl to her brother.
