LAHORE, Nov 20 (APP):On the occasion of World Children’s Day, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) highlighted the significant achievements of its Virtual Center for Child Safety, an advanced support system dedicated to the protection and timely assistance of children across the province.
According to the Director Public Relations of PSCA, the Virtual Center has so far received over 118,000 child-related cases from across the region. Of these, 93,120 cases were successfully resolved through Artificial Intelligence–based systems, helping authorities respond swiftly and effectively.
The spokesperson further reported that FIRs were registered in 18,490 cases to ensure justice and legal follow-up where required.
In a major breakthrough for family reunification efforts, the Virtual Center facilitated the safe return of 51,472 missing or separated children to their families.
Moreover, under the “Mera Pyara” initiative, records of more than 2,407 unidentified or abandoned children from welfare organizations nationwide have been added to the system. In just the past three months, the initiative has helped reunite 970 children with their families.
The spokesperson added that the Mera Pyara team is working in close coordination with the Child Protection Bureau, Edhi Foundation, and several other welfare institutions to streamline rescue, verification, and reunification efforts.
The PSCA reiterated that the Virtual Center for Child Safety operates 24/7, ensuring continuous support for children in distress. Citizens can report any child-related emergency or complaint by calling 15 and pressing 3 to connect directly with the Virtual Center for Child Safety.
The authority urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any incident involving a child to ensure their safety and protection.
