PSCA implements comprehensive security plan for Ramazan

LAHORE, Feb 19 (APP): The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has implemented a comprehensive and foolproof security plan across Punjab for Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, integrating surveillance of over 21 Ramazan and Sahulat Bazaars, 32 public parks and 163 mosques and Imambargahs to ensure safety of citizens and maintain a peaceful environment during the holy month.
According to a spokesperson, special virtual patrolling teams have been constituted at all Smart Safe City Centers, including Lahore, to monitor security-related activities round the clock. Live surveillance is being carried out through cameras installed at Ramazan bazaars, public parks, mosques and Imambargahs to ensure security during prayers and public gatherings.
The spokesperson said that private cameras in other districts are also being integrated into the Safe City system through Smart Safe City Centres to further expand the surveillance network across the province. Special monitoring is being conducted during Sehri and Iftar timings, Taraweeh prayers and other religious activities at mosques and Imambargahs.
He added that Smart Safe City Centres in various districts are maintaining strict surveillance of mosques, Imambargahs, commercial centres, Ramadan bazaars and other key public places. Through the AI-based Safe City system, special surveillance is also being conducted on beggars at traffic signals during Ramazan, with the advanced system generating immediate alerts upon detection to enable prompt action by relevant teams.
The spokesperson further said that police communication officers are performing duties in three shifts during Ramazan to ensure 24/7 operational readiness for any emergency or untoward situation. The PSCA remains committed to utilising modern technology to provide a secure and peaceful environment for citizens during the holy month, urging people to report any suspicious activity or emergency by calling Punjab Emergency Helpline 15 for swift response.
