PESHAWAR, Jun 01 (APP):Pakistan Development Foundation (PDF), a social organization actively working in the field of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has awarded scholarships to eight underprivileged yet talented students studying at Cadet College Razmak, North Waziristan.
In a letter addressed to the Principal of Cadets College Razmak, the PDF announced the scholarships for students and the corresponding cheques were also issued on same day.
Signed by the secretary general PDF, the letter stated that PDF Chairman, Muhammad Bilal Sethi, along with all members of the organization, conveyed best wishes to the scholarship recipients.
On this occasion, PDF Chairman Bilal Sethi remarked that the development of Pakistan is linked to upbringing of an educated nation.
Emphasizing the need to discourage dependency created through charity and begging-culture, Sethi added that if charitable funds are spent on the education and training of deserving individuals, it can help produce an empowered and self-reliant nation.
He further added that instead of making people dependent on charity, small businesses can also be initiated for them using such funds, enabling them to live a dignified and independent life while also creating employment opportunities for others.
PDF has played a significant role over the past ten years in character building, education, training, and empowerment of youth and other marginalized groups.
During this time, the organization has financially supported thousands of students, turning them into productive members of society.
In fact, some of the youth who benefited from the PDF’s scholarships have gone on to support other underprivileged students through the same organization.
