ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): Secretary of Housing and Works Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood Rai has said that providing safe, quality, and affordable housing to government employees was among the top priorities of the federal government.
He emphasized the need to ensure the timely completion of development projects and to maintain transparency at every stage.
He expressed these views during his visit to the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), a subsidiary organization of the Ministry of Housing and Works, on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson, the newly appointed Secretary of Housing and Works, Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood, was briefed in detail about the ongoing and completed housing projects of the authority.
During the briefing, Director General FGEHA Captain (R) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal informed the Secretary that the authority has made significant progress in providing residential facilities to federal government employees. Several housing projects in Islamabad and Karachi have been completed, while a number of others are in their final stages.
The Secretary was also briefed on the progress of major projects, including the Lifestyle Residency Apartments in G-13 and G-14, and the Skyline Housing Project, among others.
The authority has also achieved notable success in introducing modern construction standards, a transparent allotment system, and online public service facilities.
Appreciating the performance of FGEHA, Secretary Housing and Works Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood Rai reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality, and affordable housing to government employees.
He directed that all development projects must be completed on time and that transparency should remain the highest priority in all operations.
In response, the DG FGEHA assured the Secretary that the authority would complete all ongoing projects within the stipulated timelines and continue improving residential facilities to meet international standards.
