QUETTA, Dec 02 (APP): Balochistan Minister for Public Health Engineer (PHE), Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran on Tuesday said that providing drinking water to the people of Gwadar is the top priority of the government, therefore all projects should be completed within the stipulated time.
He expressed these views while visiting the office of Secretary PHE Hashim Ghilzai. The Minister was given a detailed briefing on the serious water problems in Gwadar.
Chief Engineer North Azam Zarkoon and Deputy Secretary PHE Tanveer Jamot were also present during the briefing. The officers apprised the provincial minister about the current status of water supply in different areas of Gwadar, maintenance of lines, tanker service, performance of desalination plants and under-implemented schemes.
Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran said that providing drinking water to the people of Gwadar is the top priority of the government, therefore all projects should be completed within the stipulated time.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure immediate removal of obstacles in water supply and to submit reports on a daily basis to improve the performance of field teams.
The provincial minister said that Gwadar is the economic gateway of Balochistan, therefore, no negligence would be tolerated in providing basic facilities to the citizens.
The meeting also considered new proposals for additional water tankers for Gwadar, continuous supply of electricity, and providing water to the high population. The Minister directed that all officers strengthen mutual communication and work with effective strategies for public relief.
