Progress of development schemes reviewed in meeting

BAHAWALPUR, Jul 22 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bahawalpur Zaheer Anwar Jappa while presiding over the Divisional Development Working Party meeting, directed the concerned officials to complete the development projects on time and maintain high construction standards.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Farooq Qamar, Superintendent Engineer Highways Engineer Farrukh Mumtaz Warraich, Director Development Muhammad Iqbal, Superintendent Engineer Buildings Muhammad Anwar Aadil, Director General BDA Mahboob Alam, Director Engineering BDA Afzal Baig, Director General PHA Rubina Iqbal Abbasi, Deputy Director Bahawalpur Development Authority Musa Asghar Khan Tareen and Deputy Director Colleges Professor Muhammad Tasleem Alam.
Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa said that all development projects should be designed to meet future needs and consultations should also be held with public representatives. He directed the officials to conduct frequent field visits to monitor the quality of development projects.
During the briefing, it was stated that under the development scheme of the Bahawalpur Development Authority, a 0.28 km long road will be constructed from Shikarpuri Gate to Saraiki Chowk Bahawalpur at a cost of 65 million rupees, which will help in the smooth flow of traffic. Similarly, under the scheme of the PHA, trees will be planted in different areas of Bahawalpur, including Radio Pakistan, Grain Market, and colleges, at a cost of 20 million rupees, as part of the Miyawaki Forests initiative. This scheme will be completed within one year.
