LAHORE, Oct 20 (APP): Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Price Control Salma Butt, chairing a meeting of the Grain Market Association here on Monday, reviewed the prices of essential food items.
During the meeting, it was informed that the prices of pulses, chickpeas, and gram flour have been further reduced. The price of ‘dal chana’ has been cut by Rs.20 per kilogram, while gram flour (besan) has been reduced by Rs.15 per kilogram. Similarly, the price of black chickpeas has been reduced by Rs.15 per kilogram and white chickpeas by Rs.10 per kilogram.
Special Assistant Salma Butt said that the benefit of the decline in global pulse prices is being directly passed on to consumers. She added that over the past one and a half years, a significant decrease has been recorded in pulse prices across Punjab due to consistent government efforts and effective market regulation.
She said that providing relief to the common man and controlling inflation are among the top priorities of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and the provincial government is taking every possible measure to stabilize prices and ensure affordability for the people.
