PESHAWAR, Jul 08 (APP):Women Members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elected on reserved seats from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met with Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at Governor House Peshawar on Tuesday.
The delegation comprised MPAs Farzana Shireen, Mehr Sultana, Ashber Jadoon, Sajida Tabassum, and Naseem Akhtar.
During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in the province and informed the governor that a requisition for a provincial assembly session had already been submitted.
The lawmakers said the proposed session would focus on critical issues including the recent Swat tragedy and the prevailing lack of good governance in the province.
Governor Kundi appreciated the role of women lawmakers, saying that their presence on reserved seats strengthens the opposition and ensures representation of the people and the province.
He urged them to continue voicing public concerns and defending democratic values.
The meeting also strongly condemned the alleged misuse of anti-encroachment operations for political victimization by the provincial government.
