ISLAMABAD, Dec 24 (APP): on Wednesday held a simple yet dignified Christmas celebration at its Central Secretariat in Islamabad, where a cake was cut to mark the occasion.
PPP Secretary General Humayun Khan, along with In-charge Central Secretariat Syed Sibt-ul-Haider Bukhari, participated in the ceremony.
Teh party leaders and workers extended warm Christmas greetings and best wishes to the Christian community.
Speaking on the occasion, the PPP leadership reaffirmed the party’s longstanding commitment to the protection of minority rights, promotion of religious harmony and interfaith tolerance.
Secretary General Humayun Khan said that Christmas conveys a universal message of love, peace, and brotherhood.
Syed Sibt-ul-Haider Bukhari said that the Pakistan Peoples Party, in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, firmly believes in providing minorities with equal status and opportunities in the national mainstream.
The event was organized by Sohail Romi and Rashid Chauhan. The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the country’s development, peace and prosperity.
