Poor hygiene conditions, use of prohibited ingredients were found at several outlets

CHINIOT, Oct 15 (APP):On the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority has intensified its zero-tolerance campaign against the adulteration mafia in Chiniot district.
A Food Safety Team intercepted a vehicle carrying adulterated milk near Chamra Mor, Bhawana.
Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of dry milk powder and vegetable ghee in the milk, after which a case was registered at Langanah Police Station and the vehicle along with the suspects was handed over to police.
During further inspections, Food Safety Teams visited various grocery stores, meat shops, and food outlets.
Poor hygiene conditions and the use of prohibited ingredients were found at several outlets, resulting in fines amounting to Rs. 56,500, while over 3 kilograms of expired and unsafe materials were discarded on the spot.
According to the spokesperson, strict action will continue across Punjab against adulteration and food fraud, and citizens have been urged to report any complaints to the helpline 1223.
