SIALKOT, Jun 01 (APP):Polling for by-election in Punjab Assembly’s constituency PP-52 Sialkot-IX has begun on Sunday.
The polling will continue till 5:00 pm without any break.
Fourteen candidates are vying for the seat which fell vacant after the death of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Ch. Arshad Javed Warraich.
Hina Arshad (daughter of Ch. Arshad Javed Warraich) from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Raheel Kamran Cheema from Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Muhammad Shafaqat from Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Hassan Toqeer Cheema from Pakistan Nazriyati Party and other independent candidates are contesting by-election in the said constituency.
The total number of registered voters in PP-52 Sialkot-IX is 297,185 including 157,725 male and 139,460 female voters where 1696 polling officials are performing their duties.
The total number of polling stations in the constituency is 185, including 11 highly sensitive, 38 sensitive and 136 normal polling stations.
A control room has been set up in the office of Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab
to monitor the by-election.
