Senior leaders, including Dr Rubina Akhtar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Malik Arshad Iqbal Bhutta of the Pakistan People’s Party, and Dr Khalid Khan Khakwani of the Pakistan Muslim League, said Pakistan’s timely diplomatic initiatives helped de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran, allowing the world to heave a sigh of relief.
In separate statements issued here, they said Pakistan’s leadership demonstrated foresight and prudence by actively engaging in diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict from spreading further in the region. They maintained that the ceasefire between the two sides is not the victory of any single country but a victory for humanity, as it has helped save countless lives and reduce global tensions.
The leaders also acknowledged the role of Pakistan’s leadership, including the efforts attributed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, DPM and Foreign Minister lshaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in facilitating dialogue and encouraging both sides to agree to a temporary ceasefire. They noted that the announcement of the truce has improved the global atmosphere and helped stabilise financial markets.
They further stated that Pakistan’s role has been widely appreciated internationally, improving the country’s image as a responsible and peace-loving state. Expressions of gratitude from people in Iran and other parts of the region were cited as evidence of the positive perception of Pakistan’s efforts.
The leaders expressed hope that the ongoing diplomatic momentum would lead to a lasting agreement in the coming weeks and called on the international community, particularly the Muslim world, to support initiatives aimed at ensuring durable peace.
Meanwhile, Malik Arshad Iqbal Bhutta also welcomed the decision to observe Friday as Youm-e-Tashakkur.
The leaders concluded that Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace has enhanced its global standing and demonstrated that diplomacy and dialogue remain the most effective path toward stability and coexistence.
