BAHAWALNAGAR, Sep 04 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bahawalnagar Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhawan announced on Wednesday that the preparations for the upcoming polio vaccination campaign from September 9 to 13 have been completed.
According to DC office, Deputy Commissioner urged parents to actively support the government’s efforts to eliminate polio by ensuring their children receive the preventive vaccines.
During a recent meeting at the DC office, Bhawan emphasized the importance of vaccination in protecting children from the lifelong effects of polio.
He called for a collective effort to make Pakistan polio-free and encouraged parents to play their part in the campaign.
The polio vaccination will take place from house to house for children aged five and under from September 9 to 11, followed by catch-up activities on September 12 and 13.
A total of 592,575 children in Bahawalnagar will be targeted in this campaign with 2,786 teams mobilized to carry out the vaccination including 136 fixed teams, 2,562 mobile teams and 88 transit teams.
Health officials, WHO representatives and other stakeholders attended the meeting to review the arrangements for the campaign.
