PESHAWAR, Jun 26 (APP): Peshawar Capital City Police have announced a robust security plan, deploying over 8,500 police officers and personnel across the city to ensure safety and order during the holy month of Muharram.
According to police, Rapid Response Force (RRF), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Quick Response Force (QRF), Lady Police, Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), Ababeel Squad, City Patrolling Units and Traffic Police would be deployed as part of measures to maintain peace in the holy month.
Security measures would encompass all procession routes, Majalis-e-Aza, and Imambargahs where BDU teams and sniffer dogs to detect any threats.
A modern Command and Control Center has been established in the Kohati area equipped with advanced surveillance tools. The control room would monitor key locations across the city using CCTV and drone cameras.
Authorities have also announced a ban on the entry of vehicles into the inner city during the final days of Muharram to maintain security and prevent congestion.
The police urged citizens to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activity to ensure peace in Muharram.
