TANK, Jan 19 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday said that the sacrifices of the KP Police were unparalleled, as they stand on the frontline against terrorism.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated this while talking to media during his visit to Tank for offering condolences and expressing solidarity with the families of police personnel martyred in an IED blast targeting an APC vehicle in the limits of Gomal Police Station.
Upon his arrival at Police Lines Tank, he was received by DPO Tank Shabbir Hussain Shah, senior district administration officers, District President Pakistan Peoples Party Tank Hidayatullah Khan Gandapur, and other party officials.
The Governor paid homage at the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid floral wreaths, and offered special prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyred police officials. He also met with the bereaved families and local elders, expressing heartfelt sympathy and assuring them of his full support.
Governor Kundi said that the bravery and sacrifices of KP Police are evident to the entire nation. He paid tribute to the KP Police, Frontier Corps, Federal Constabulary, Armed Forces, and the public for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the province and the country.
He said that due to KP’s proximity to the Afghan border, the province faces persistent security challenges, adding that terrorist activities are being orchestrated from across the border with India and Israel backing.
The Governor stressed that all political parties must set aside their differences and unite to defeat the enemies of the state, who cannot confront Pakistan directly and instead resort to terrorism. He acknowledged the complex nature of counterterrorism operations, highlighting the risk of collateral damage, and praised the professionalism and courage of security forces and police in dealing with such threats.
He also lauded the role of the media and recalled the sacrifices of innocent civilians, including the APS martyrs, questioning the justification of violence against children in the name of religion. He reiterated that there would be no dialogue with groups acting against the state of Pakistan.
