MANSEHRA, Jul 15 (APP):To strengthen emergency preparedness amid ongoing monsoon rains, a joint mock exercise was conducted by Police and Rescue 1122 personnel on River Siran in the Shinkiari area of Mansehra district.
The drill was held on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Mansehra Mian Behzad Adil and District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur, aiming to evaluate inter-agency coordination, flood response readiness, and swift emergency action.
Led by SHO Shinkiari Cadet Saqib, the exercise involved active participation from police and Rescue 1122 teams, simulating a flood emergency scenario caused by rising water levels in the river.
Officials also conducted a public awareness campaign during the exercise, advising nearby residents to avoid approaching riverbanks and cautioning them about the risks of fast-flowing water. The exercise served both as a preparedness test and an educational outreach effort to enhance community safety.
The district administration and Mansehra Police urged the public to cooperate by staying away from rivers, streams, and other high-risk areas during the monsoon season to prevent potential tragedies.
