Police recover 2,100 missed/stolen cell phones during current year
FAISALABAD, Sep 22 (APP):The district police have demonstrated an outstanding performance in digital policing by recovering over 2,100 missed/stolen cell phones having market value of Rs 70 million through e-gadget Apps during the current year.
According to a police spokesperson here Tuesday, the police took prompt action on more than 143,000 online applications and citizens’ complaints received on Punjab Police Public App, in addition to save the data of over 188,900 visitors through ‘Hotel Eye’ and record of 1,051,329 travelers through ‘Travel Eye’ systems.
Moreover, 70,899 tenants were also registered under tenant registration system during the year.
The spokesperson stated that the use of smart policing, modern Apps, and information technology is ensuring the provision of prompt and effective services to citizens.
He added that the IT branch has become a strong pillar of modern policing and an effective weapon against crime.
