LAHORE, Dec 27 (APP): Punjab Police has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of martyrs’ families by providing a residential house worth Rs 135 million to the family of Shaheed Constable Bairam Ram.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the house was purchased in a private housing society in Rahim Yar Khan based on the family’s preference. The provision of the house was made possible through the special initiative of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, with funds released by the Government of Punjab for the purpose.
Shaheed Constable Bairam Ram had embraced martyrdom in 2024 after being fired upon by dacoits in the Katcha area while performing his duties. He is survived by his wife.
Paying tribute to his supreme sacrifice, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Constable Bairam Ram laid down his life in the line of duty without concern for his own safety. He added that Punjab Police would never forget the courage and dedication of its brave officers.
The IGP said that Punjab Police remains the custodian of the legacy of more than 1,700 martyrs, and the welfare of their families continues to be a top priority for the department.
