DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Aug 04 (APP):The Police Yaum-e- Shuhada (Martyrs’ Day) was observed in the district to pay homage and tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the policemen with a ceremony held here at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines, Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Nasir Mehmood Satti, Acting Sessions Judge Mian Mehmood, Additional Session Judge Jameel Khan, District Police Officer Nasir Mehmood, Officers of Pak Army, SPs Investigation, CTD, City, Saddar, SDPOs, relatives of martyrs, religious leaders, traders, media persons and people from different walks of life participated in the meeting.
To pay tribute to the martyrs of the police, the children of the martyred policemen performed Naats, songs and speeches.
Addressing the ceremony, RPO Nasir Mehmood Satti said that the rank and position that the Almighty has given to a martyr in Islam was matchless. “The martyrs are our real heroes and their families were a source of boosting the morale of our forces,” he mentioned.
He paid tribute to the police martyrs who rendered their lives while safeguarding the people’s lives and properties.
“Their great sacrifices of police martyrs can never be forgotten,” he acknowledged.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police made an unparalleled story of sacrifices by rendering their lives for the sake of national survival and security against terrorists, he said.
The August 4th is observed as ‘Police Martyrs Day’ across the country to assure the families of the martyrs that the blood of their martyrs will not go in vain, the RPO said and added that today’s peace in the region was because of the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs.
He paid salutes to the mothers and sisters of those whose loved ones sacrificed their today for the nation’s tomorrow.
He said the police would not hesitate to sacrifice their lives in future for the survival of the country and the nation.
Earlier, the RPO also visited ‘Yadgar-e-Shuhada’ and prayed for the elevation of martyrs’ ranks.
Later, the RPO and DPO Nasir Mehmood along with the children of martyrs also planted saplings in the Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines in connection with the ongoing Monsoon tree plantation campaign.
