DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 28 (APP):The district police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have conducted a joint operation in the Paharpur area, arresting 21 suspected individuals, including facilitators of the miscreants.
According to police spokesman the operation was carried out under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Sajad Ahmed Sahibzada in several areas of Paharpur including Seedu Wali, Barz Wali, Ali Wanda, Chanda, Kali Wanda, Garah Pir Imam Shah, Gloti, and different localities of Paniala
following reports of the presence of miscreants in the area.
Other senior officers including SP CTD Iftikhar Ali Shah, SP Paharpur Asad Ali Shah, SP Muhammad Nawab Khan, along with SHO Shaheed Nawab Khan and other officials.
Personnel from Al-Burraq Force, Elite Force, CTD, and district police also took part in the operation.
During the operation,
an exchange of fire took place between police and the miscreants in the mountainous terrain located near inter-provincial boundaries.
However, due to the swift and effective response by law enforcement agencies, the suspects managed to flee the area.
Police later conducted an extensive search operation in the mountainous region and adjoining areas, leading to arrest of 21 suspected individuals, including facilitators of the miscreants, were taken into custody.
The police also recovered weapons and ammunition during the operation.
He said that investigations are ongoing and security operations would continue to ensure peace and stability in the district.
