Police arrest seven gamblers; recover Rs 37,300 stake money

RAWALPINDI, Sep 15 (APP): Rawalpindi district Police arrested seven gamblers and recovered Rs 37,300 stake money, prize bonds, five mobile phones, and other items from their possession, said a police spokesman here on Friday.

He informed that Race Course police conducted a raid and arrested five gamblers namely Lal Khan, Tariq, Aqib, Naseer Ahmed, and Ghulam Muhammad, who were allegedly involved in betting while playing cards.

Police recovered Rs 13,000, prize bonds, two mobile phones, and other items from their possession.

Naseerabad police also arrested two gamblers namely Salamat Khan and Muhammad Ijaz and recovered Rs 24,300 cash stake money, three mobile phones, and other items from their possession.

Separate cases have been registered against them while further investigations are under process.

Superintendent of Police, Potohar Muhammad Waqas Khan said that gambling is the root cause of other evils and those involved in such crimes do not deserve any concession.
