LAHORE, Jul 23 (APP):Pakistan’s first Virtual Women Police Station established in Safe City Lahore has taken timely action to arrest the parents who were arranging the marriage of their 12-year-old daughter.
According to the details, the parents were marrying their underage daughter to a foreign national for financial gains. A call was received from the neighbors at the Virtual Women Police station (VWPS). The VWPS immediately dispatched the police to the scene. The police responded promptly and stopped the forced marriage. The girl’s parents and the Nikaah-Khawan were taken into custody. Women can also seek help from the VWPS through the Women Safety App’s live chat and video call features, it said.
