FAISALABAD, Jul 07 (APP):The police claimed to have busted out 202 gangs by arresting their 526 active members and recovered stolen property worth Rs.202.6 million from their possession during current year 2025.
Police spokesman Tariq Jatt said here on Monday that the police had launched a crackdown against criminal gangs and nabbed 526 gangsters belonging to 202 gangs wanted to the police in various cases of dacoity, robbery, theft, vehicle lifting, cattle lifting and other street crimes.
During investigation, the police have so far recovered looted properties worth Rs.202.6 million from their possession including 644 motorcycles, 2 cars, 13 loader rickshaws, 4 motorcycle rickshaws, 94 mobile phones, cash, gold jewelry, 25 batteries, 2 laptops, electric wires and 82 stolen cattle, he added.
He further said that the police also arrested illicit weapon holders and recovered 187 pistols, 2 carbines, 1 mouser, 1 repeater, 3 pump-action shotguns, 1 12-bore pump, 1 Kalashnikov rifle and a large quantity of bullets from their possession.
Legal proceedings against these criminals were also initiated in accordance with their available criminal records, he added.
