RAWALPINDI, Jan 23 (APP):The Rawalpindi Police arrested 16 people during search operations conducted under the National Action Plan for violating the tenancy law.
A police spokesman said on Friday the arrests were made during search operations aimed at ensuring compliance with the tenancy registration requirements. Cases were registered separately against the detained individuals.
The operations were carried out in the areas of the City, Ganjmandi, Ratta Amral, Banni and Wah Saddar police stations, the spokesman said.
The divisional superintendents of police urged citizens to ensure mandatory registration of tenants to help maintain law and order. They advised property owners to register tenants and shop renters with the nearest police station or Police Service Centre at the time of letting out premises.
The spokesman said the search operations would continue as part of the National Action Plan to strengthen security and prevent crime.
