GUJRAT, Jan 17 (APP):Police carried out a grand operation in the Saddar Circle against drug peddlers and illegal arms holders, arresting 13 suspects and recovering weapons and narcotics from different areas of the district.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was conducted in the jurisdictions of Karyanwala, Tanda, City and Sadar Jalalpur Jattan police stations on the directives of DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq.
Under the supervision of DSP Sadar Circle Rai Sarfraz Yousaf, police teams led by SHO Karyanwala Mian Munir Hussain arrested eight suspects and recovered seven 30-bore pistols and 1,260 grams hashish from them.
Meanwhile, the team of Sadar Jalalpur Jattan recovered a 30-bore pistol from a suspect, while City Jalalpur Jattan arrested two drug peddlers and seized 10 litres of liquor.
In a separate action, Tanda police team arrested two suspects and recovered a Kalashnikov rifle and a 244-bore rifle from their possession.
