PESHAWAR, Dec 18 (APP):Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ms. Ayesha Raza Farooq, visited the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) KP to review progress of the ongoing polio vaccination campaign.
During the visit, the EOC KP Coordinator, Shafiullah Khan briefed her on ongoing polio eradication efforts in KP, including Day 2 campaign progress in Peshawar and overall Day 3 campaign performance in KP.
She was also briefed about field implementation, coverage status, and key operational updates from across the province.
Ms. Ayesha Raza Farooq emphasized the importance of effective supervision, strong coordination, and timely decision-making to ensure that no child is missed during the campaign.
She appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of frontline polio workers, supervisors, and EOC staff who are working under challenging conditions to protect children from lifelong disability.
She also stressed the need to further strengthen community engagement, field monitoring, and inter-departmental coordination to achieve campaign targets.
Reaffirming the government’s strong commitment to a polio-free Pakistan, she highlighted that collective efforts, accountability, and sustained focus are essential to successfully interrupt poliovirus transmission.
