PESHAWAR, Nov 25 (APP):Leader of the Opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Dr. Ibadullah has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) growing popularity is becoming difficult for some political rivals to digest, which is why they have resorted to unnecessary criticism following the recent by-election results.
Talking at the PA session on Tuesday, he stated that raising objections over an election conducted entirely under the supervision of the provincial government is beyond comprehension.
“This was the same election where the entire administrative staff belonged to the provincial government. When all officials were theirs, how can they justify the narrative of rigging?” he asked. He added that the real issue is that the party’s increasing popularity is not acceptable to certain opponents.
Dr. Ibadullah further said that PTI should acknowledge that this was a major political contest and accepting defeat is part of democratic ethics. “Instead of showing satisfaction or political maturity, their focus remains on making noise, staging protests and creating false narratives.”
Calling the by-election a significant national political event, he urged PTI to demonstrate political maturity and accept the outcome. “True victory is one that even the opponent acknowledges, but perhaps such political grace is not in their destiny,” he remarked.
