PML-N govt believes in giving opportunities to youngsters on basis of merit: Rana Mashhood

LAHORE, Jan 23 (APP):Prime Minister’s Youth Programme  (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that PML-N government believes in giving opportunities to youngsters purely on merit.
He said this while addressing Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop distribution ceremony at Lahore College Women University (LCWU) on Friday.
He said that in 1997, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif as Punjab CM eliminated ‘boti mafia’ cheating culture and always emphasized on promoting merit.
He said that credit goes to PML-N government for introducing country’s first youth policy understanding that the country’s progress was linked with  promotion of education.
He said, “After laptop initiative, the Punjab Education Endowment Fund has been started which is benefiting millions of deserving students in pursuing their education.”
He further said that there were millions of students who after completing their education through Punjab Education Endowment Fund were now doing so well in their practical lives.
He said that Pakistan came into being on basis of equality offering equal opportunities to everyone living in the country.
PMYP chairman said that under the youth policy, youngsters were brought towards self entrepreneurship giving them confidence and courage to promote slogan i.e ‘dare to dream’.
He stated that government started giving soft loans to youngsters so that their ideas and startups could be materialized.
He said that Danish Schools project was initiated with a vision to extend quality education facilities to remote and underprivileged areas of the country and this initiative yielded positive results.
He said with the grace of Allah, the Almighty the Punjab Education Endowment Fund had become Pakistan Endowment Fund benefiting children across the country.
Rana Mashhood said that Punjab Danish Authority had become Pakistan Danish Authority and Danish Schools network was being expanded across the country.
He said that, “Pakistan is 4th fastest growing freelance market and it is just because of the distribution of more than than 1.8 million laptops among students purely on merit.”
He said that it was a resolve of
PML-N government to take IT exports to 25 billion dollars.
He said that during ‘Marka-i-Haq’, Pakistan proved it’s mettle in the field of IT.
He stated that youngsters must register themselves on digital youth hub platform to benefit from this unique initiative.
He said “Digital youth hub is a artificial intelligence based platform and it provides proper guidance to youth in line with their provided data whether they need any further academic courses besides telling them about available scholarships as well.”
He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif believed in empowering youth.
He said that education was the only way to strengthen Pakistan and the incumbent government under the able leadership of PM Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was committed to provided all resources to empower youngsters.
Rana Mashhood said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement which he termed as a great honour for Pakistan.
Prime Minister’s Youth Programme chairman said, “PML-N government believes in positively engaging youth and providing them opportunities to excel.”
LCWU VC Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi also spoke on the occasion.
