PMAS-AAUR trains faculty on integrating AI tools in higher education

RAWALPINDI, Jul 24 (APP):Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), through its University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT), organized a faculty development training programme titled “Artificial Intelligence for Everyone.”
Held from July 13 to 24, the initiative aimed to enhance teachers’ digital competencies and familiarize them with modern AI tools for teaching, research, and academic productivity.
A total of 45 faculty members from various academic departments successfully completed the training.Speaking at the concluding ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman stated that Artificial Intelligence has become an integral part of the modern digital landscape, transforming education, research, industry, and public services globally.
He emphasized that universities must prepare faculty and students to utilize AI technologies effectively to remain competitive. He added that equipped faculty members can deliver more engaging learning experiences while guiding students to use these technologies responsibly and ethically.
UIIT Director Prof. Dr. Yaser Hafeez noted that the training demonstrated how to integrate AI tools into higher education while maintaining academic integrity.
He added that UIIT will continue organizing similar capacity-building programmes to strengthen digital skills and promote emerging technologies across the university
