LAHORE, Jan 10 (APP):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday appreciated the Pakistan Navy on
the successful test of the LY-80 (N) missile and loitering munition and commended the efforts
of the team involved in development of the missile and munition.
The prime minister congratulated the leadership, officers and sailors of the Pakistan Navy on
the successful and comprehensive exercise conducted in the North Arabian Sea.
Under the leadership of Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, the Pakistan Navy had
become a force demonstrating modern capabilities and the highest standards of professionalism,
he added.
The prime minister said: “With its professional expertise and modern technology, the Pakistan Navy is
making Pakistan’s maritime borders increasingly impregnable with each passing day.”
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that effective performance of the Pakistan Navy’s modern air defense,
surface-to-air strike, and autonomous systems was of key importance in ensuring Pakistan’s
security.
He said: “The successful open-sea trial of an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) is also a significant
milestone in the defense of the country’s maritime borders.”
