LAHORE, Oct 23 (APP):A plan has been prepared to improve the English language in government schools of Punjab, under which government teachers and students will be taught English.
The School Education Department official sources told APP that the department has submitted an estimate of 12 billion for this project.
Under the project, students will be provided with modern curriculum and practical language learning opportunities, while teachers will be given English language proficiency training according to world standards.
In addition, digital learning and provision of modern teaching materials in schools are also part of the project.
The program will provide world-class education opportunities to millions of students.
The decision has been taken following a report, that only 35 percent of children in Punjab know how to read and write English. Officials say in this regard that English language proficiency is a strong step towards preparing for global competition.
