KARACHI, Oct 21 (APP):The Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) organized 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the residence of the Chairman of PJBF, Murtaza Mandviwalla.
The gathering was held under the partnership of the PJBF, Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Hattori Masaru.
The highlight of the evening was the introduction of the signing of the MoU between PJBF and the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS).
In his Director’s Report, which was presented by Mandviwalla, briefed the gathering that the organization was actively involved in a series of high-level meetings to advance PJBF’s business objectives as well as in strengthening Pakistan-Japan economic ties.
The meetings included the discussion with the Ministry of Commerce, with the officials of JICA, the representatives of Board of Investments and the members of Special Investment Facilitation Council besides the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.
Mandviwalla reiterated the fact that the PJBF has successfully conducted two Export to Japan Seminar series, first in Karachi and another one in Lahore, showing business prospect that can be beneficial to both the countries.
The PJBF is recognized as a leading bilateral business forum, boasting a board of 20 directors. Notably, 10 of these directors are Japanese nationals residing in Pakistan, actively overseeing Japanese conglomerates operating within the country. These conglomerates have a significant presence in various industries, including automotive, pharmaceuticals, information technology, textiles, engineering, fisheries, petrochemicals, and steel, among others.
