LAHORE, Nov 13 (APP):The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) actively participated in DataFest 2025 — a two-day national event organized by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) under the Government of Pakistan.
Representing Digital Punjab, the PITB highlighted the province’s flagship digital initiatives and technological innovations driving e-Governance, Citizen Facilitation, and Business Empowerment.
On day 1, PITB Director General (DG) e-Governance Sajid Latif while on the second day, PITB Director General (DG) IT-Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi along with representatives from the IT-Operations, IT-Solutions, e-Governance, and Admin Wings, showcased the organization’s wide-ranging ICT interventions in the domains of Digital Governance, Automation, Citizen-Centric Services, Entrepreneurship, Youth Empowerment, and Education.
Secretary Planning, Development & Special Initiatives (PD&SI)/Member Coordination Awais Manzur Sumra and Managing Director Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Sahibzadi Wasimah Umer visited PITB’s stall. Throughout the event, PITB’s booth attracted a large number of dignitaries, policymakers, and technology enthusiasts, including delegations from the World Bank and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. On behalf of PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf, souvenirs were presented to Member SS/RM PBS Muhammad Sarwar Gondal (SI) and World Bank representatives in recognition of their efforts to promote data-driven growth in Pakistan.
In his message, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated, “Data is at the heart of effective governance and sustainable development. Through our digital initiatives, PITB is transforming how public services are delivered and decisions are made — ensuring transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity across Punjab. Platforms like DataFest play a pivotal role in uniting stakeholders to harness data for national progress.”
The pioneering DataFest 2025 brought together a diverse audience of tech leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to explore emerging trends in data utilization. With the goal of building connections, boosting economic growth, and accelerating the shift toward a data-driven Pakistan, the event concluded after two days of insightful discussions and exhibitions.
