RAWALPINDI, Sep 16 (APP):The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PUMA) has expressed deep concern over the suspension of registration and dismissal from service of 15 doctors in Punjab, indicating that such measures intensify uncertainty and accelerate the brain drain of medical professionals abroad.
PIMA Central President Prof. Dr. Atif Hafeez Siddiqui in a statement on Wednesday said that the careers of healthcare professionals cannot be placed at risk through abrupt administrative decisions, emphasizing that these actions carry severe repercussions for the public healthcare system and patient care.
He said that Pakistan’s health sector is already grappling with acute manpower shortages, challenging work environments, and career instability for young practitioners. He criticized impractical queries and official pressure in routine hospital operations, demanding an immediate review of the decisions and calling for meaningful dialogue to address doctors’ grievances
