LAHORE, Jul 23 (APP):In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a greener Punjab, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore delivered free saplings to 2,000 households across the city during the first three days of its ongoing tree plantation campaign titled ‘Make a Call, Get a Plant Delivered to Your Home.’
The initiative aims to promote tree planting among citizens by ensuring easy access to free plants and encouraging community participation in creating a greener Lahore. Under this campaign, the PHA is providing 17 varieties of fruit and shade trees free of cost. On a single phone call to helpline 1399, the PHA teams deliver the plants directly to citizens’ homes and also carry out the planting.
PHA Director General Mansoor Ahmad said that the campaign is a practical reflection of the CM’s environmental vision. He appreciated the enthusiastic response from the public and noted that the government’s eco-friendly efforts are receiving widespread support. He added that in the coming days, thousands of additional saplings will be planted in homes and public spaces based on requests received through the helpline. This campaign, he emphasized, will not only contribute significantly to environmental protection but also lay the foundation for a greener, healthier future for the next generations.
