LAHORE, Sep 13 (APP):In line with Chief Minister(CM) Punjab,Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision to make Lahore beautiful and smog-free,the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has launched a plantation drive featuring flowering trees across the city on Sunday.
Horticulture Agency Lahore Managing Director Ahmad Usman Javed said hundreds of new Amaltas trees had been planted along Lake City Road in Zone 7 as part of the campaign.
He said Gulmohar,Jacaranda,Gul Nishter and Buddha trees would also be planted at different locations across Lahore.
Ahmad Usman Javed said suitable sites for planting flowering trees had been identified in all PHA zones to expand green cover and beautify the city.
He added that the plantation of flowering trees would not only enhance Lahore’s aesthetic appeal but also contribute to addressing climate-related challenges and creating a healthier urban environment.
