LAHORE, Jul 21 (APP): Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has launched the Plant for Pakistan campaign, a landmark initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and public engagement in plantation efforts.
For the first time in the country’s history, a government-backed plantation program is offering free home delivery and planting of saplings at citizens’ residences. As part of this initiative, the PHA has launched a dedicated helpline 1399, allowing citizens to simply call, provide their name and address, and receive a sapling planted at their doorstep, entirely free of cost.
PHA Director General Mansoor Ahmad termed the initiative a practical step towards achieving the vision of a Green Punjab. “Distributing and planting free saplings for every household is a major stride towards creating a greener, healthier environment,” he said. “Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the PHA is fully committed to environmental conservation and urban beautification.”
The DG added that all available resources are being utilized to enhance Lahore’s green cover and improve urban ecology. He urged citizens to take full advantage of this initiative by calling 1399, sharing their details, and becoming active participants in building a more sustainable Punjab.
