LAHORE, Nov 15 (APP): The Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) successfully foiled an attempted cyber-attack by international hackers targeting PFSA’s data infrastructure.
According to the PFSA spokesperson, the foreign-origin cyber intrusion was effectively
neutralized through a coordinated and prompt response by technical teams
of both organizations.
The spokesperson said that PITB teams, led directly by the chairman, worked alongside the PFSA specialists to block the data-encryption attempt and prevent any breach of sensitive information. Owing to their swift intervention, all PFSA records, case files, and forensic reports remain fully secure. He added that PFSA had already devised a comprehensive preventive plan to deal with potential cyber threats, which was immediately activated as the attack was detected. As a result, 100 per cent protective measures were implemented in time, ensuring the safety of all institutional data.
The PFSA, in collaboration with the PITB, is now taking additional steps to further strengthen its cyber-security framework and the agency is committed to upgrading digital safeguards and maintaining international standards of data protection, he concluded.
