BAHAWALPUR, May 29 (APP):A team of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized fake milk made from chemicals in Khairpur Tamewali area.
Official sources said that the PFA had received information that fake milk was being supplied to Bahawalpur city from Khairpur Tamewali tehsil. “A PFA team intercepted a vehicle loaded with 180 litres fake milk,” they said. When milk was tested in laboratory, it was confirmed that milk had been made with chemicals.
The milk was confiscated and discarded. The local have registered a case against the suspects and launched investigation into it.
The PFA officials said that consumers could inform PFA on its helpline number 1223 about sale of fake food items or use of sub-standard material in food items. “Immediate action will be taken against the mafia involved in sale of fake food items,” they said.
