LAHORE, Nov 05 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 1,000 kilograms of counterfeit cream during a major crackdowns in Nishtar Town and Kahna, acting on the directions of Director General Food Authority Asim Javed.
Two illegal production units were sealed, and two criminal cases were registered against the offenders.
According to the DG PFA Asim Javed, food safety teams confiscated powder, banaspati ghee, machinery and artificial flavoring materials used in the production of fake dairy products, including cream, desi ghee, cheese, khoya and yogurt.
He revealed that prohibited and harmful substances were being used to manufacture adulterated cream and khoya in residential areas, where the culprits had set up small-scale illegal production units inside homes. The teams also found poor storage conditions, with fungus-covered walls and unhygienic surroundings.
