GUJRAT, Jan 09 (APP):Deputy Director of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Gujrat, Rizwan Saeed on Friday conducted 90 inspections across the district,issuing 27 improvement notices.Rs.175,000 in fines were imposed in 13 cases for food safety violations and three cases were registered.
According to PFA spokesperson,teams discarded 9.47 kg of expired food and seized 989 counterfeit National Foods spice packets.Seven food samples were also sent for analysis.
Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring safe food and taking strict action against counterfeit and substandard products.
