LODHRAN, Aug 16 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted inspections of various food points including sweet units, and grocery stores, and imposed heavy fines for violations of hygiene rules.
The raids were being carried out under the directions of the Director General of Punjab Food Authority, Asim Javed, to ensure the provision of quality food to the masses.
According to details, three bakeries at Adda Peer Jiwan and Hussainabad Chowk Lodhran were fined a total of Rs 25,000 for the presence of insects in sweets, poor sanitation in the processing area, the absence of medical certificates for workers, and non-compliance with the given instructions.
Similarly, a hotel at Chak 12 MPR Shujaabad Road, Lodhran, was fined Rs 3,000 for finding dead insects in the freezer and poor cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Additionally, a grocery store on Jalalpur Road near Awami Cotton Factory, Lodhran, was fined Rs 8,000 for selling expired spices and not maintaining any sales records.
A drink corner was fined Rs 5,000 for improper storage of drinks.
On this occasion, the DG Punjab Food Authority stated that actions against elements posing health risks will continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.
